Year 3

A busy and productive semester has ended. This term, Year 3 students have enjoyed a range of fun and engaging learning opportunities. Over the last couple of weeks, they were a part of ‘Bounce Back’ incursion and visited the Resource Recovery Centre, Shepparton, as part of our Environment Day Celebrations.

The students showed their creative talents in making a recycled craft, using recycled materials and it was amazing to see how waste can be put into making so many useful and creative things. Parental support was outstanding.

Sirius College supports its students by developing the fundamental skills for life effectiveness. These skills include recognising and managing our emotions, developing a caring concern for others, establishing positive relationships, making responsible decisions, and handling challenging situations constructively. These are the skills that allow children to calm themselves when they are angry, when they are making friends, or resolving conflicts respectfully, and making strong and safe choices. ‘Bounce Back’ incursion targeted the above mentioned skills through different videos, role plays and fun games.

I hope that learning will continue throughout the holidays. Homework has been set for all students to complete during this time. It will help your child to get off to the best possible start in July.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
